Yoga at Home (video) - an amazing stretch for your hips and hamstrings

Updated: Apr 2, 2020

Today we will be learning Supta Padangustasana, or Reclined Big Toe Pose. This is an amazing stretch for your hamstrings and hips and is enormously helpful for lower back pain. My toddler also makes a hilarious cameo in this video! As schools are currently closed, she is home 24/7 now and wanted to join in the fun :)

Custom private sessions will be $40 for an hour long online session and can be shared at no extra cost with your partner, roommate or child! Please feel free to contact me at info@yogabyamalia.com to set up a customized session.

I am also currently working on putting together free online yoga videos that you can enjoy from home. Please keep up the positive energy and try to be as kind and supportive to others as you can. We are stronger together and this too shall pass. Love and light to all of you!!

Hi! Yes, yoga in general tends to strengthen your feet. As for specific poses, I would recommend holding upward facing dog for several breaths - making sure to firmly press the tops of your feet into the floor and lifting your knees up off of the floor. For a more intense foot strengthener/stretch, I would recommend kneeling on the floor with your toes tucked under and slowly placing more and more of your body weight toward the heels as you keep the toes tucked under. This one can be intense but it's very effective! I hope that helps :)

For those of us on our feet at work , is there a way to strengthen them?
